Introduction
The popular Red-Bag PCC application for pipe class calculations has been completely overhauled and is re-designed for future extensions. The application has been completely rewritten. It has taken us approximately 6 years to get to this point. This is mainly due to the workload from other software development projects.
Data Migration
The latest release was PCC 4.1.14 and will now be replaced to PCC 5.0.XXX. The PCC5 release is not compatible with PCC4. However PCC5 can import most of a PCC4 project database. The import of valves, SW- and THR fittings are not (yet) included.
License Migration
The licensing system is changed. There are no USB keys/dongles required anymore as for PCC4. The license system for PCC5 requires a connection with the internet. The application should be able to make connection to the license server, which is a https address.
The PCC4 application will remain functional after installation of PCC5. Both the license work in parallel. This will be up to 2027. The PCC5 license is machine bound but will also support concurrent licensing in the future. The license for PCC5 is explained here: click here. In short: the user will have to install the PCC5 application first and follow the instructions of dialog in menu 'System > License' to obtain a license key.
Troubleshooting
If the message at the right bottom is 'No valid license', you can check the following:
- did you click OK to save the license key and did you restart the software?
- did you provide the proper license request file to Red-Bag from the computer you are using?
- does the firewall of your computer and/or your local area network allow PCC to connect to the Internet and to https://www.biluna.com in particular?
