PCC set license window

Purpose

The purpose of this dialog is to create a license request and/or to check the received license.

Summary

You send license data from the application to (info at) Red-Bag containing data about your machine to run the PCC software. Red-Bag sends a license key back via email that allows your machine running the PCC software. 

Description

In the PCC application select in the menu bar: System > License.

The license request data is displayed in the dialog and can be written to a request file. The received license is a key (code), provided by the Red-Bag license administrator, based on the request data submitted by the user. The license is machine bound and is time limited. The dialog will open the first time with information about the computer in the Machine Information field. The license key and the check license field will be empty.

The following data fields are available:

  • 'Machine Information', the license data of your machine used to create a request for a license key. 
  • 'Save Request File', the displayed license data of your machine can be saved to a file.
  • 'License key', the received key (code) must be entered here by typing or pasting.
  • 'Check License', a button that validates the key. 

The buttons at the bottom are:

  • 'Help' button to show this help page.
  • 'OK' button to close the dialog and save the license key data.
  • 'Cancel' button to close the dialog without saving the data.

Procedure to obtain a license

The user has first agreed to a certain period and price for the license and optional support for using the PCC software.

To request the license:

  • click the 'Save request file', to save the request file on your computer
  • send the request file to the designated address to request the license key

Your request will be processed usually within a few days and you will receive a reply with the license key.

When you have received the license key code, open this dialog again and:

  • enter the license key in the 'License key' field
  • click the 'Check license' button

The license key should now show 'Valid license'. If the license key is not valid, contact the Red-Bag license administrator.

If the license is valid:

  • click the 'OK' button to save the license file to your computer

Restart the application to activate the license.

If you already have a valid license and you did not request for a new license:

  • click the 'Cancel' button or otherwise the license file will be overwritten
