The PCC program provides two export facilities.

The first export possibility is for the storage of data. The data that can be exported includes the user input information, the component information, the summary calculation results and the detailed calculation results. The information that is presented on the screen can be exported to a file. The export file format is in spreadsheet format and can be used with normal office tools such as Microsoft Excel ® for further editing. For further information see Export Summary to MS Excel.

The second export possibility is for the transfer of the data of a pipe class. The data that can be transfered includes the user input information and the component information. The information that is presented on the screen can be transfered to a file The export file format is XML (Extensible Markup Language) as defined by the W3C. The XML format is a simple, very flexible structured text format derived from SGML (ISO 8879). Originally designed to meet the challenges of large-scale electronic publishing, XML is also playing an increasingly important role in the exchange of a wide variety of data on the Internet and elsewhere. In the PCC program, the XML data is used to transfer setting and component selection information between computer systems. The PCC program can use this data format to transfer data from for example a local machine to a central database. For further information see Export Pipe Class to XML file.
