1. General

Company involvement in process control of suppliers is limited to:

• the necessary assessment of capabilities, facilities and methods prior to placing a purchase order
• the stipulation of specific requirements in the purchase order documents
• the monitoring and verification by Company's Inspectors and/or Assessors of the activities exercised by the supplier during the contract
• the acceptance of correctly completed work.

Company’s involvement in process control during site fabrication and construction includes:

• the necessary assessment of capabilities and methods prior to placing a subcontract
• general site management
• the provision of local training facilities if required
• the stipulation of specific requirements in the subcontract documents
• the monitoring and verification by Company's Construction Engineers and/or Assessors of the activities exercised by the subcontractors
• the acceptance of correctly completed work.

2. Planning

Suppliers and subcontractors shall be required to produce quality plans/inspection and test plans as necessary (see section 11.3).

Prior to fabrication and/or installation these plans shall be evaluated by Company if witness and hold points shall be agreed to, including the necessary allowances for third party and authority requirements.

These plans shall cover all stages of the processes from material receipt and handling through to final inspection test and, if appropriate, commissioning.

Intermittent maintenance and handling activities during long term storage of materials and equipment shall also be planned.

3. Safety, Health, Welfare and Environment (SHWE)

During all stages of the work due regard shall be paid to the maintenance of SHWE and security.

These measures are required to be taken by suppliers, subcontractors and construction personnel to:

• prevent loss, damage or deterioration to materials
• prevent hazardous situations
• cater for injuries and/or emergencies
• protect the environment.

4. Special Processes

Special processes are activities that cannot be fully verified by subsequent inspection and testing. These may include, but not be limited to:

• weld preparation
• treatment of welding consumables
• heat treatment
• forging
• forming
• surface preparation

All special processes shall be carried out and monitored by qualified/experienced personnel using controlled equipment in suitable environments and according to procedures. The activities and results shall be recorded.

Company's inspection and construction personnel shall assure by surveillance, monitoring and verification that the special processes are suitably, controlled and that the responsible personnel are qualified/experienced.
