Design standard of Typical detail & tolerances of backing ring with connection pieces. Use this standard for study purposes only.

General Notes:

1. See exchanger drawing for any exception, dimensions and material specification
2. Backing ring to be cut after machining
3. Tapped holes in connecting pieces to be located from backing ring before backing ring is cut. Holes to be tapped to suit floating head flange bolts.
4. Connecting pieces shall have:
   • 4 tapped holes for backing rings with 20 or more bolt holes
   • 2 tapped holes for backing rings with less than 20 bolt holes
5. Thickness of connecting pieces to be equal to diameter of floating head flange bolts
6. Vendor may use his standard backing ring device, however subject to Company approval
