Design standard of Typical construction details for test rings of floating head type exchangers. Use this standard for study purposes only.

General Notes:

  1. See exchanger drawing for material specification and any exception to this standard
  2. Missing dimensions to be determined by vendor, if not given on exchanger drawing
  3. Number of boltholes required should be half the number used in flange 2
  4. Use type 'A' if 'K' exceeds 35 mm, type 'B' if 'K' is 35 mm and smaller
  5. Tapped hole in center line for eyebolt 1/2" or M12 for units under 30" and 5/8" or M16 for units 30" and larger
  6. Type thread for studs and eyebolt to be the same as used for main flanges. Pitch of studs approximately 125 mm and number to be a multiple of 4. Nut and stud material: carbon steel commercial quality
  7. Stuffing box packing:
    • 10 mm diameter for units 12" and smaller
    • 13 mm diameter for units 14" to 24" including
    • 16 mm diameter for units 26" and larger
  8. Flange material: carbon steel weldable commercial quality
